JOB TITLE: DIRECTOR, DEVELOPMENT
DEPARTMENT: EAST AKRON COMMUNITY HOUSE, DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION
REPORTS TO: EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Position Summary
As Director, Development, the individual acts as a director of special events, with primary responsibility for directing the planning, organization, implementation and follow-up for all special events held to benefit East Akron Community House. The individual also has responsibility to assist the Executive Director in designing and ensuring success of comprehensive fund raising program so the hospital can meet its immediate and long-range financial goals. The Director, Development is also responsible for the Agency's Foundation's publications.
Duties and Responsibilities
Identifies and gains the support of added community and civic organizations to conduct special events, the proceeds to be used on be half of the East Akron Community House.
Assists the Women's Board in fund raising activities sponsored by the Agency. Includes providing direction and guidance in identification and cultivation of prospects to having their financial suppor1 for such activity.
Serves as Agency liaison with the community by representing the Foundation in fund raising sponsorships.
Advises and counsels assigned volunteer community and civic organizations regarding their proposed fund raising efforts on behalf of the East Akron Community House.
Assists in the Agency's annual giving program to gain unrestricted financial support, including writing, recruiting of volunteers and staff assistance.
Identifies and organizes volunteer leadership in support of the Agency in the area served by EACH.
Makes speeches and presentations to organizations to convey the mission and needs of EACH to encourage their fund raising involvement and support.
Maintains as needed accurate records of the process involved in the planning and development of assigned fund raising programs.
