Assist in identifying special gift sources for capital/endowment needs of the Agency.

Writes reports and other material relating to special events.

Prepares appropriate acknowledgements and recognition for assigned community and civic organizations participating in the fund raising efforts.

Assists in the preparation of written proposals for funding.

Participates as needed in the Public Relations Department's Speaker's Bureau in promoting the Agency throughout our service area.

Education and Training

Associate's degree in a related field: public relations, journalism, education, a bachelor of science is preferred.

One to three years experience in fund raising or marketing or public relations.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work with volunteers and Board members.

Attention to detail.

Knowledge of fund raising regulations and applicable tax laws.

Knowledge of the greater Akron community

Past involvement in significant special events.

Willingness to participate in community activities and events.

Ability to deal in confidence with donor information.

Knowledgeable in computer applications of donor records and work processing.

Salary Range $30,000 - $35,000
